Description
Thin strips of kelp seaweed (kombu) are slowly simmered with soy sauce and other seasonings and then dried and dusted with salt to give an umami rich and aromatic Gen Shio Kombu.
It can be used as a topping over cooked rice or sprinkled over tofu and salad, or as a seasoning for stir-fried, simmered dishes, soups or even pasta. Or try it as a filling in traditional Japanese onigiri (rice balls)!
